Pre-Bangkok research #1

[Jetstar] – takuya37 on Flickr, 18th May ‘05.
Well, it’s Bangkok yet again! You guys must really be wondering what the hell I’m doing, heading off to the Land of Smiles for the third time. I must really be having serious issues ;p
*nods and mumbles to self in agreement*
Anyway, the recent Jetstar anniversary offer was really good: $2 for one way tickets to Bangkok, Siem Reap and some other places. V saw the email at almost midnight, and we really scrambled to get the tickets before they disappeared.
The result? $97 for a return trip ticket, all taxes included : )
Next up, the quest for cheepo accomodation at a good location.
Requirements:
- less than THB1000 for a double room. *THB1000 daily rate, left this out. Thanks Infusion!
- be near to a BTS station, easy access to other places.
- proximity to the main shopping spots or tourist sights would be a plus point.
- Wifi would be a good thing too, or else Internet access somehow.
- Positive reviews from travellers.
Hotels were more or less out, since they cost way too much. The ever popular Asia Hotel is currently going at THB1800 for a cabin twin room, woot. That’ll definitely kill our collective funds.
So that started my research. I’ll write more on later posts about reviews for some places I looked into : )
