of meeting old friends.
Amex sent me this nice looking flyer in the mail, promising that I was “in for a very merry Christmas…”
NOT. (I was mildly disappointed to discover the lie later on. But yeah I’m just kidding; whoever needs a damn credit card? I’m already splurging enough as it is.)
And woah, apparently I was eligible for a first year annual fee waiver *plus* a special Christmas rate of 3.88% p.a. for half a year if I signed up for their line of credit now. But it was written in the small print of the application form that I had to have like SGD$30,000 annual income to be eligible.
Yeah, I know Amex’s disappointed, but so am I, so am I. I wish I earned in excess of 30k p.a. too :)
*junks flyer into the nearest plastic carrier for mass disposal later*
The previous day was spent recovering from my lack of sleep during the weekend (I had like a total of 7 hours’ sleep from Friday to Sunday), but I managed to drag myself down to Raffles Place to meet some friends from my past HOTL3 days; Adri, Aloy and Fulin. Carl’s Jr seemed like a much better choice when we took the damn weather into consideration, and it was quite an enjoyable meetup all in all. I hadn’t seen Fulin and Aloy since my poly days, but the conversation seemed to fall back into place easily enough, grins.
The later part of the afternoon was spent trudging around the city with Aloy, since Fulin had to head off to a job agency. Checking for a waiter position with Balaclava @ Suntec, giving Aloy the once-over tour of the revamped Marina Square, getting lost in Kinokuniya (ever seen a couple of fellows walking three complete circuits just to get to the fiction section? Nodsie, I was the idiot leading the way), me checking out Orchard’s NLB for the first time, me trying out the wanton mee at Heeren under Aloy’s recommendation (really good I’d say, gotta eat it again next time), and keeping our eyes peeled all the while for pretty girls visual entertainment. Ping ping! Stoned at Mark Lee and crew doing some recording at the Heeren, got bored after a few minutes and left, pfft.
There’s some other stuff like us hitting the lottery by reaching Sony-Ericsson’s helpdesk at bloody 1515hrs (when it was due for stock taking at 1500 hrs.. great), gawking at Gundam modelkits on sale @ OG, buying me new earring and an Esprit tee, meeting NZ+MS for dinner after their ACCA papers @Bedok 85 (after surviving my two-hour meeting at the office, pooi), meeting LS before walking home, yakking with the brother, watching the Jay concert DVD, troubleshooting my damn MSN (and finding out some moron’d set an unknown proxy on me HTTP settings) but bah. too many details, and I’m lazy to cover it all.
Suffice it to say that it’s been yet another busy day :) And yeah, now I know someone whom I can walk around with to eyeball books, girls, walk around with and not get bored, harhar. Too bad Mr Aloy’s heading back to OZ in a few months’ time ;p
