settlin’ the shit
woopsie, nearly skipped today’s entry; but i guess there’s nothing much to talk about today anyway. ate, slept, ate slept. played utopia. crapped on icq.
finally settled the CF freelance thing though; i had to FTP 3 times, recheck my work until i was realli having a bad headache, and sms/email to dennis to confirm that yes, my files were working. and he suggested $50 for my effort. shrug, i’m not really that keen on the money at this point. $50 out of $300 was pretty proportionate to the work that i’d done when u compared the entire module anyway.. but when u think that in order to get the remaining $250, i had to code a shopping cart system from scratch.. nah! not worth it. my brain cells have more glorious causes to die for =) rather die in writing than over coding man.. there’s a guilt factor involved of course, since i a) didn’t finish it as agreed b) sortof spoilt lin’s reputation as i was the one she introduced. but oh well.. too late isn’t it? i shouldn’t have accepted if i wasn’t sure i could finish it. point to learn about freelance.. too much give n take.
edwin suggested that i could try doing a nicer version on another website; as part of a portfolio for some minor venture he had been thinking about earlier on. pretty interesting, i guess i’ll look into it when i can think coherently.
oh yeah, tot i’ll introduce some nice sites here as well.
Simply EteL is a pretty nice site that showcases the owner’s songs, some self composed, some cover versions. i think it’s pretty kewl to do so, esp when her voice’s pretty good =) wish my voice was better so i could do something like dat, lol. but well, if horses were wishes, beggars would ride, isn’t it?
